Windows XP supports the following types of Internet sharing:
Internet Connection Sharing
Sharing via a router and hub or router and switch
Sharing via third-party gateway or proxy server software such as Ositis WinProxy, Sygate Home Network, or Deerfield WinGate
Both Internet Connection Sharing and sharing via a router with a switch or a hub are easy to implement with Windows XP's default TCP/IP configuration, because both of these normally use dynamic IP addresses.
