HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT is made up of the contents of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes combined with the contents of HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes. Entries specified in the latter override conflicting entries specified in the former. This type of conflict can occur when the user specifies preferences that differ from the system's default settings.
