Earlier in this chapter, Uninterruptible Power Supplies were discussed as an excellent way to improve the power coming into your system and guard against the problems that can occur when a power outage strikes. Having power available is only one part of the equation. Windows XP has a number of options that allow managing the available power. These options are available from Control Panel in the Performance and Maintenance section by clicking Power Options. A number of different property sheets are available in Power Options.
