Most Windows XP device driver error messages will reflect an understanding of what a device driver is and how it operates. Knowing more about device drivers in general will provide a greater understanding of where the device driver has failed and help you solve problems. Consider the following example.
You install a new sound card in your computer. After booting the computer, you install the OEM drivers as described in the documentation.
