So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
How it works...
This recipe gathers information about processes that run on a remote machine and writes it to a table. Write-SqlTableData writes the data into PacktPub.dbo.TaskManagerDump on a local instance of the Linux machine. In this case, PacktPub is the database name and TaskManagerDump is the name of the table.
On specifying the force parameter, it checks for the existence of the TaskManagerDump table on the PacktPub database. In the case of its absence, the table will be created.
The following script is executed to pull the data into the table:
$ /usr/bin/pwsh -c 'cd /tmp;./DataLoading.PS1'
The same script can also be run on any tool, such as Azure Data Studio.
