I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
How it works...
Pre-built Docker images are downloaded from the Docker Hub registry to create a layer on top of the host machine. The Docker images consist of layers of a filesystem and application configuration that are used to create containers. Docker Hub is a collection of many pre-built images that can be pulled and further customized.
To download a specific image (or set of images), use Pull-ContainerImage. If you don't specify a tag, the engine uses :latest as the default tag. The first cmdlet we ran pulls the microsoft/powershell:latest image from the repository.
