I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
How to do it...
Installing Visual Studio Code (VS Code) is simple:
- If your Linux distribution has a software store, search the store for Visual Studio Code.
- If you find Visual Studio Code, install the package from there. If not, proceed with the next step.
- The package name for Visual Studio Code is code. Use your package manager to search for the package in the repository. On Ubuntu, the command would be:
$ sudo apt-cache pkgnames code
- If you are able to find the package in your repository, install Visual Studio Code like you would any other package:
$ sudo apt install code
- If you are unable to find the package, go to https://code.visualstudio.com/Download and download the right code package for your distribution.
