How it works...
Cmdlet discovery is key when working with PowerShell, unless you are sure of what cmdlets you should use to meet your requirements. PowerShell is designed to provide the useful discovery of cmdlets so that it can display detailed information about them.
In this recipe, we will use cmdlet discovery, along with Format-Table, to format the name and the synopsis of the cmdlets in a way that makes reading them easier. We will also use a wildcard-based filtering of cmdlets to list the cmdlets that help manage virtual machines.
