It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
How to do it...
Let's dive deep into the steps to connect to a remote Linux (Ubuntu) machine from another Linux machine (CentOS):

On the CentOS Linux machine, check whether the SSH service is running or not. To do that, use the systemctl command:
# systemctl status sshd
- Next, check the firewall setting. By default, port 22 is open to allow inbound traffic:
# ufw status
- To generate a key-pair, run the ssh-keygen command and save the keys to the default location:
The passphrase is left blank, but this is not a recommended practice. Use the Linux SSH native command ssh-keygen to generate keys.
