It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
How it works...
This recipe uses the Linux ssh tool to connect to the remote EC2 instance that we created on AWS. First, we download the key pair to connect to the EC2 instance so that the SSH agent can use it, and then we use the ssh command to connect to the remote computer.
Save the private key file in a safe place. Amazon EC2 does not keep a copy of your private key; therefore, if you lose the private key, there is no way to recover it.
As with any cloud resource, release the resources when the lab exercise is complete in order to avoid wastage and save costs.
