So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
How it works...
The Compare-Object cmdlet is designed to take in a reference object (your list of servers in this case) and a difference object (the list that your fellow administrator sent you). It compares the contents and shows on the screen which of the objects contains it; the reference object indicated by the left arrow and the difference object by the right arrow. The cmdlet has other parameters as well, such as a switch to include the objects that are equal, and/or exclude the differences.
