I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
How to do it...
We will use the same script as the previous recipe:
- Assign the object returned by the previous recipe to a variable:
PS> $FileCleanupInfo = (& /ch08/02-Clear-LogFiles.ps1)
- Call the SpaceCleared property and divide it by administrative constants:
PS> $FileCleanupInfo.SpaceCleared/1KB
PS> $FileCleanupInfo.SpaceCleared/1MB
PS> $FileCleanupInfo.SpaceCleared/1GB
Note how the results are not just the numbers divided by powers of 1,000:
- To calculate what percentage of space got cleared from a 250 GB hard disk, do the following:
PS> ($FileCleanupInfo.SpaceCleared)/(250*1e9)*100
