How to do it...

Let's start by listing all the containers in the system:

1. Use the Get-Container cmdlet to list out all of the available containers:

PS> Get-Container

2. Next, list out only those containers that are in the Exited state:

PS> Get-Container | Where-Object Status -like 'Exited*'

3. You could even narrow down the search results. For instance, you could find the containers that are running and were created in the last six hours:

PS> Get-Container | Where-Object {$_.Status -like 'Up*' -and $_.Created -lt (Get-Date).AddHours(-6)}
