4.1.7 Cost
Ultimately it is the cost which drives the choice of adoption of a particular
code. Generally speaking, the more complex the line coding, the costlier it
is. The cost of high rating components in case of higher power, the cost of
higher bandwidth in case such code is chosen, and the long term cost of
maintenance, also account for arriving at a decision.
