Plesiochronous Digital Hierarchy
We have seen the methods of construction of digital signals from an analog
voice signal and the principles of time division multiplexing in the previous
chapters. Let us now have a look at the process through which these sig-
nals are actually used in the practical communication systems to enable the
media to carry a large number of channels.
The 64-kbps digital signal is never used as it is for the communication link,
