I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Retrospective
This chapter doesn’t cover everything that program management entails. That’s why the rest of the book exists. But you should at least have a good sense of the role now. You see that you have to balance priorities, manage risks, communicate, and do many other tasks.
A program manager is the oil that keeps the gears turning smoothly by managing the interfaces between teams and keeping a high-level view. Doing your work well means everyone else’s work gets easier, too. The next chapter zooms in a bit to make sure you have an understanding of project management.
