Take a Vote

Problem: There’s no clear method for making a decision.

After you’ve given the community a voice, it’s time to make the decision by taking a vote. Much like with giving a voice, you have to answer the “when?”, “who?”, and “how?” “When?” is the easiest question to answer, so let’s start there. Keeping the vote open for a week is a good starting point. Hopefully, everyone has had time to keep up with the discussion. If they haven’t, they have a week to catch up. If the discussion period is more than two weeks, you might consider going with a voting period that’s half of the discussion period, but in most cases, you’ll find that a week is sufficient.
