I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Build Relationships
Problem: You’re new to the role of program manager (or even to the entire project) and you don’t have relationships with members of the community.
Open source projects are made of people. To work with people successfully, you’ll have to build relationships with them. This means connecting on an individual basis—you can’t build a relationship with the entire community at once because the community is a collection of individuals. Think about every job you’ve had. How much more productive are you once you’ve established relationships with your coworkers?
