The question we would ask at this point is: Should Larry confront
Betty about her method of preparation? We would say no. It’s now a
nonissue the way she prepares her business. As long as it works, why
fight a battle that doesn’t need to be fought?
Like any communication, confrontation is expensive because it
consumes the time and energy of the participants. It costs even more
when it adds stress to the relationship. The old adage to ‘‘pick your
battles’’ makes good sense.
