The rolling box

No matter how large or small you may be, if you know that you’ll be moving long distances on paved

ground, a rolling box is by far the most comfortable means of transporting your gear. You can find many

excellent rolling cases at Porter Case (

www.portercase.com). If you need waterproof and bombproof pro-

tection, check out Pelican cases at

www.pelican.com. You can get these cases in all shapes and sizes to fit

your needs. My personal favorite is the Pelican 1510, shown in Figure 3-30. The 1510 is designed around

the exact dimensions allowed by the airlines for carry-on luggage. Several companies sell cases such as

this but the Pelican offers extreme durability, a waterproof seal around the lid, and a Gore-Tex valve to

equalize the pressure of going up and down in airplanes. These boxes are designed to take a real beating

while protecting your gear.
