So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Composing Your Art
T
he rules of composition are designed to help maintain some sense of law and order in the art world.
Just kidding! There aren’t any rules to creating art, nor are there any rules to creating wedding
images. However, having some guidelines can be helpful in setting you on your way towards creating
great art. These guidelines are valuable to all artists, but the beginner stands to gain the most from learn-
ing and adhering to them. As you master the basics, you develop a feel for when you can bend or break
the rules and still create images that work. The feel of an image is what is important. In fact, all of the
rules or guidelines are based on gut feelings. When a viewer sees an image that breaks the rules, it fre-
quently creates a feeling of distress inside the viewer and this person can almost immediately tell you
that they don’t like the image even if they can’t tell you why. The opposite is true for images that follow
the rules. The viewer can feel that the image has a natural balance to it and they feel comfortable looking
at it. They may not have any idea which rules it follows, they just know they like it.
