So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Specialized Equipment
If you do more than an occasional destination wedding, you need to travel light. I’ve whittled down my
own gear box to just the essentials listed here. Depending on your style of shooting, you may require
more camera gear, and you certainly don’t have to travel with the laptop and all the associated computer
gear unless you will be gone for extended lengths of time. If you are shooting a single destination wed-
ding, you can easily get by without the laptop by just bringing your CompactFlash memory cards back
home (on your person) before downloading them to your home computer.
The carry-on camera case
I personally don’t like to trust the airlines with my camera gear, so in order to be able to take it all with
me it has to fit in something that conforms to the regulation size dimensions for carry-on luggage. My
favorite is the Pelican 1510. This rolling box is the exact maximum dimensions allowed for carry-on lug-
gage. The fact that it rolls on its own wheels and is practically bombproof makes it perfect for protecting
your delicate gear on long-distance travels. Other travel cases that are excellent, although not quite so
durable, can be found at
www.tamrac.com and www.portercase.com.
As tough as these boxes are, I don’t recommend checking them on with the regular checked baggage.
