Also known as IEEE 1394 or iLink, the FireWire port was widely used in digital camcorders. Most camcorders that recorded onto tape included a FireWire interface.
There were two versions: FireWire 400 (on the left) and FireWire 800 (on the right).

FireWire 400 transfers data at about 400 Mbps, while FireWire 800 transfers data at about 800 Mbps
