Hiding guides (View>Hide Guides) is an all-or-nothing deal.
Sometimes you only need to hide some of the guides but
not all of them. This tip will make your life easier. In the
Layers palette Option-click (PC: Alt-click) on the Create a
New Layer icon and name the new layer “guides”. Now use
the Selection tool to select the guides you want on that
layer. A little box will appear in the Layers palette at the
right side of the layer that contains the selected guides.
Drag-and-drop this little box to the new guides layer to
assign them to their own layer. Now you can click on the
