InDesign CS/CS2
When you’re working with type,
sometimes a regular old Spacebar
space is too big. Sometimes you need
something less. A mini-space, if you
will. Well, InDesign is chock-full of
freaky, I mean “professional,” spaces.
You fi nd them by going under the
Type menu, under Insert White Space,
and you’ll fi nd a whole submenu of
spaces, including popular typogra-
pher’s spaces like en and em spaces.
My favorite is Hair Space. I have no
earthly idea what it is, but I just like
the name. (Okay, I do know—a hair
space is just what it sounds like it
would be: a really, really thin space
that is
