It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

InDesign really has no glow feature, but
you can fake one using the drop shadow
feature. Select your frame with the Selec-
tion tool (it works really nicely on large
text) and choose Drop Shadow from the
Object menu. Click on the Preview and
Drop Shadow checkboxes, create a drop
shadow with a nice glow color such as
green or yellow, and choose zero for both
offsets. Your text will appear to have a
glow around it.
It’s hard to pick up any pub-
lication that doesn’t have at
least one manually created
