A table of contents sounds
like a simple thing until
you try to do one with
InDesign. It doesn’t have
to be hard (it just is). A TOC
Style is a set of options to
build your table of con-
tents. You can build a new
one simply by choosing
Table of Contents Styles
from the Layout menu and
clicking the New button in
the dialog. Give your style
a catchy name like “TOC
Style 1.” At this point all
you really need to do is tell it which of your paragraph styles will be included as TOC entries
and click OK. More tips follow.
