This demonstrates the benefit of running a hidden master under your own control from which you allow various remote nameservers to slave the zone, and you update the delegation as required.
The hidden master is more or less static (and stable). In fact, I've always been a proponent of setting up multiplesets of remote secondaries, including hot spares that are not actively delegated. If you run into problems with a given delegation, your spares are already set up and ready to go (this model, with some monitoring and automation is the essence of our "hot swappable nameservers" service).
