Ring Topology
With a ring topology, every node has exactly two links connected to it, usually
forming a loop, with other nodes on the ring. Token Ring (IEEE 802.5) and Fiber
Distributed Data Interface (FDDI) are examples of the types of networks that use
this topology. Data is sent from one node to the next, around the ring in a single
direction, until it ends up back where it started. Each node copies the data that is
addressed to it as the data passes through the node.
