It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

These three Mobile IP components work together in a three-step operation
that entails the following functions:
• Agent discovery—A mobile node discovers its foreign agent, home
agent, and care-of address (a temporary address to which data packets
sent to a mobile node’s home address can be forwarded). It does so by
listening for advertisements that are sent across the network.
• Registration—The mobile node registers its current location with the
foreign agent and its home agent. It requests service from a foreign agent
on a foreign network. It then informs its home agent of its current
care-of address.
