just don’t generate enough traffic to justify a full T1 or E1. Those that can use less
than a full T1 can contract to use fractions of the total T1 line, called a fractional
T1 (abbreviated as F-T1). When ordering an F-T1 from a service provider, a
company actually receives a full T1 circuit, but the ISP limits the transmission.
The subscriber pays for only the channel capacity it orders—256 Kbps, 384 Kbps,
524 Kbps, and so on.
