Chapter 9
Don’t Take a
Bad Day Home
with You
by John Baldoni
Feeling frustrated at work—especially late in the day,
when you’re worn out? Right before you go home, do
something that comes easily to you.
That advice was given to my daughter, a drop-in diver
in a collegiate program. One day she had hit a wall and
was about to head home when her coach pulled her aside
and said, “Instead of leaving in a state of frustration, why
don’t you fi nish practice with a dive you know you do
well?” My daughter followed her suggestion and left feel-
ing much better about herself and her abilities.
