I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

I know these chapter intros don’t often (rarely) relate to what’s actually in the chapter ahead, but in this one instance, I am going to veer from my quirky intro thing and share some actual, honest-to-goodness information—stuff that would be out of place amongst the regular techniques in this chapter. I’m going to share something frank and honest that will propel your portrait work ahead in ways you cannot imagine.
