When Is the Best Time to Shoot?

The easiest way to get great portraits outdoors is to shoot at the time of day when the sun is low in the sky. The shadows it creates are soft and flattering, and the color of the light from the sun is warm and pleasing. That time is about an hour or so before sunset, and it’s called “golden hour” because the light is just spectacular at that time.
