There are several issues that can come up when blogging. When you start a blog, you often have a lot of enthusiasm and ideas for writing. However, as the blog gets older, it can become harder to come up with original ideas for articles and lead to writer's block. Because most bloggers have the goal of writing daily, this burnout can be dangerous because readers have an expectation regarding content and frequency of writing. If the writing becomes more sporadic because of the lack of ideas, visitors will find that it's more difficult to keep track of when updates are made and will often find themselves going to other sites instead.

Another related problem is the thought that all articles must be original. With so many millions of bloggers, original content can be scarce. I mean, really, only so many blogs can write about the newest smart phone before a reader just finds the content really repetitive.

A way to get around this issue is to create an editorial calendar. Brainstorming and documenting ideas for articles and when to use them will help to ensure that you have pre-selected content for certain dates. As news breaks and interesting things happen in the world, content can always be added to the calendar.
