I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
40. What Is the Difference Between Following and Followers?
Following people on Twitter means that you subscribe to their account; this is called being a follower. Therefore, when the people you follow post something on their account, it appears in your timeline (see Figure 6-2). When you follow a person, you are allowing that person to send you a private message called a direct message. Only you and the sender can see the direct message.

As an example, pretend you follow @barrymoltz. You can see his updates in your timeline and receive any direct messages that Barry may send you. Now, unless Barry follows you, you cannot send Barry a direct message nor can he see your updates in his timeline.
Followers are people who request to have your tweets show up in their timeline and allow you to send them direct messages. If you follow someone, you are their follower. Thus, if you follow @barrymoltz, you are his follower.
When a person follows you and you reciprocate, you are friends. So, if you follow me, and I follow you, we are each other's friends on Twitter.
