So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
61. What Is LinkedIn Answers?
LinkedIn has a feature that is quite likely one of the most underused and overlooked in a professional social networking strategy. At first glance, LinkedIn Answers is a simple tool; you post a question and get an answer. There is a lot more to it than that.
LinkedIn Answers consists of two things: asking questions and answering questions. Even though it seems like a very simplistic idea, answering questions posted on LinkedIn Answers actually reinforces your position as a thought leader or industry expert, thus helping you expand your network and showcase your expertise (see Figure 8-5).

To start, click the Answers section at the top of the site. It takes you to the Answers Home section of LinkedIn. There you can ask a question about anything in your field of work or something in a totally different field you want to find out about.
Following is what is so great about Answers:
- You can easily and quickly ask a question about something in your field. This question can be sorted into your specific business categories. People will begin answering the question or referring you to people/places to find an answer. As this happens you begin networking and chatting with other professionals.
