Strengthening credibility begins with an understanding of the human dynamics of trust. Ask yourself this: Whom do you trust more: people you know or people you do not know? Your answer is likely to be “people I know.” Admittedly, you may not trust some people you know well, but that is much less often the case. Much more often than not, you learn to trust those you get to know, or because you get to know them, you learn to trust them. Rarely do people view the folks they sit next to at work as not trustworthy. It is always the other folks out there, but not the ones they know.
