It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Creating an instance
The db2icrt command creates a Db2 instance in the home directory of the instance owner. It creates the SQLLIB subdirectory and DBM CFG parameters, with the default settings.
The syntax for the command in the Unix environment is as follows:
db2icrt -u <FencedUserID> <InstanceName>
In the preceding command, the following applies:
- FencedUserID: Identifies the name of the user ID under which fenced user-defined functions and fenced stored procedures will run
- InstanceName: Identifies the name of the instance, which is also the name of the user in the operating system
