It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Geographically dispersed Db2 pureScale db2cluster (GDPC)
The geographically dispersed Db2 pureScale cluster (GDPC) is a configuration that allows a Db2 pureScale cluster to be distributed, where members of a cluster are at different datacenters serving HA and DR in one solution.
A GDPC typically consists of the following:
- Two or more Db2 pureScale data members
- Two cluster caching (CF) facilities (one in each data center)
- SAN-attached cluster storage running IBM Spectrum Scale (formerly called GPFS)
- A dedicated network channel between Db2 members and CFs
