I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
The system maintenance authority (SYSMAINT)
This authority allows users to perform the following maintenance and utility operations at instance and database levels, but does not allow direct access to data:
- Make a backup image of a database or a table space
- Restore an existing database by using a backup image
- Restore a table space by using a backup image
- Perform a roll-forward recovery operation on a database
- Start or stop a Db2 database manager instance
- Run a trace on the database operation
- Collect database system monitor snapshots by using monitor table functions for both instance and associated databases
- Quiesce a table space or query the state of a table space
- Reorganize a table
- Collect catalog statistics by using the RUNSTATS utility ...
