I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
BLU platform management
While you can run OLTP and analytical workloads on the same server, it is best to isolate analytical workloads, even from each other. While it is also possible to run BLU on a virtual image, it is not recommended for production environments. There are several different options for configuring BLU:
- Option 1: BLU and OLTP workloads on separate servers:
- Best option
- Minimizes risk to workloads
- Fewer controls to manage, configure, and set up
- Best security
- Ease of resource and capacity management
- Option 2: One server with separate Db2 instances:
- Good option
- Set Db2 instance resources to guarantee each instance gets specific levels of server resources
