So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Cluster services and interconnect
Db2 pureScale has a sophisticated monitoring system, which manages all of the services required to operate the cluster. IBM's Reliable Services Cluster Technology (RSCT) detects failures, and Tivoli System Automation (TSA) automates recovery processes.
To make this work, you need a high-capacity fast internal network. There are two supported interconnect communications methods available, listed in order of performance:
- RDMA protocol over Converged Ethernet (RoCE) network
- TCP/IP protocol over Ethernet (TCP/IP) network
The Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA) is a set of instructions that allows servers to access each other's memory.
InfiniBand is no longer supported.
