Db2 pureScale has one STMM per member. STMM actively tunes memory configurations, based on local resources, dynamic workloads, and what configuration settings are set to AUTOMATIC.
The Db2 STMM can be activated by setting the DB CFG variable SELF_TUNING_MEM to ON. For pureScale, STMM is activated if any member in the cluster has it on.
You can turn off STMM for any database on any member by setting SELF_TUNING_MEM to OFF. If you want STMM on, but you do not want it changing a DB configuration variable like DATABASE_MEMORY, then just remove AUTOMATIC from that variable.
