The system catalog views

The system catalog consists of a set of special SYSIBM schema tables and special SYSCAT views (these are built on SYSIBM base special tables) which include information about all the objects within a database. These tables contain information about the logical and physical structure of the database objects and security information including the type of access that users have to access these objects.
