Camera Tests
Camera tests are most commonly used for auditioning artists and TV presenters. For TV particularly, it is important for presenters to look good and to be heard clearly. Some of this they can learn, but the camera is unpredictable and some people are more photogenic than others. The same applies to sound: some people have a clearer speaking voice. Make-up, hair and costume personnel are not usually hired for these tests, unless many people are being tested and the production can afford it.
On a larger production, usually drama or feature films, there may be a special requirement for an artist and the director and the designer will want to make sure that everything looks right on camera. A special day will be organized for the artist ...
