Ageing Make-Up
The principles of lightening and shading discussed in the last section are used for ageing but instead of correcting shadows and unwanted lines these are deliberately exaggerated. The bone structure does not change in the ageing process, but the muscles around it become less elastic and fall to create wrinkles.
The skin also becomes finer, showing veins and small broken blood vessels. Any blue around the eyes becomes more noticeable. Small, dark patches, called liver spots, appear and when the skin tans it may stay patchy. Black skins particularly show dark patches when ageing. These are the effects that need to be created or exaggerated.
