It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Maintaining and Cleaning Wigs and Hairpieces
After removal of a wig, the hair lace needs to be cleaned. Surgical spirit is used to lift the hair lace from the artist’s face, but acetone or methylated spirit are also good for cleaning stubborn gum or dirt left on the lace.
Place the hair lace onto a clean towel, cloth or tissue.
Use a glass or metal bowl for the spirit.
Use a toothbrush or similar hard-bristled brush.
