We have shown ways to limit or allow access to types of records and specific records. Sometimes, we need to apply similar limitations to specific fields on a record. Let's take the Customer Credit Check Rating field on the Sales Order as an example. We may not want to allow sales reps to see the value in this field. How can we hide it from them?
We can do so by creating a new form for the sales order record and removing the field from that form. We demonstrate how to do this in Chapter 6, Customization, however, once the form is created, we can determine which forms will be available for this role to be able to view.
