Start by creating the workflow itself by going to Customization | Workflow | Workflows | New:
- Give it a name and select the record and SUB TYPE that the workflow will run on. This is a multi-select option.
- Select a Release Status. There are three possible statuses for a workflow, Not Released, Released, and Testing:
- Not Released: It is equivalent to inactive. The workflow will not function, whether for testing purposes or to actually run.
- Released: It means that the workflow is running and will work for any user or record that complies with the criteria of the workflow.
